Cupping
"The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness". - Abraham Maslow
The ancient art of cupping is a traditional therapy that has been practiced throughout the world for thousands of years. It can be utilised to assist in the treatment of many health disorders:
Cupping is a therapeutic suction technique that is designed to draw toxin build up from the deeper layers of the body tissue to the surface of the skin.
Cups can leave discolourations or marks on the skin, commonly misconceived as bruising. This is an indication that the therapeutic application of the cupping has been successful. There is no accompanying tenderness if done correctly and they are typically resolved within a few days.
A light or moderate blockage will cause the skin beneath the cup to become a pink or red colour, whereas severe stagnation may cause a deep scarlet, purple or even black colour on the skin. It may take up to 7 to 10 days for dark colour to disperse.
Cupping rarely takes more than 10 minutes to perform, and its effects are typically immediate. The healing process may be shortened considerably by using cupping, a method that manually removes energy blockages.
